The Great Gender Divergence - why some societies are more gender equal than others

Over the 20th century, the entire world became more gender equal, but some regions are far more gender equal than others. What explains this heterogeneity? Why is Scandinavia the most gender equal place in the world? Dr Alice Evans have been studying the cultural evolution of societies around the world and undertaking qualitative research in every continent. In this lecture she will unpack the most important economic and social drivers of gender equality.

Lecture by Alice Evans, Senior Lecturer at King's College London. She is currently working on a book called The Great Gender Divergence (Princeton University Press).
